Bespoke development / Field & geospatial / Operations & process

Practical systems for messy work.

Strataflow builds bespoke websites, software and geospatial field systems, and fixes the processes around them. For businesses where off-the-shelf tools do not quite fit the work.

Founder-led by Laurie Holbrook, with nearly a decade in fibre planning, GIS and operational delivery.

How I work

Follow the work before deciding what to change.

Bring one job, service or customer journey that is slow, hard to trust or held together by workarounds. You do not need to arrive with a finished brief.

What I need from you

Access to the current system or process, the people who use it, and one decision-maker.

See the starting reviews
  1. 01 / Trace

Trace the work end to end

We follow a real job or customer journey from request to outcome: handoffs, workarounds, evidence and where trust breaks down.

You getA shared map showing where it fails and what to fix first.
  2. 02 / Define

    Set the rules and ownership

We agree what the system must do, what each status means, which information to trust and who owns each decision.

You getAn agreed blueprint with scope, owners and a clear test for success.
  3. 03 / Deliver

Make the change and prove it

I make the smallest useful change, test it with real users or cases and fix what the first version exposes.

You getA tested system or process, operating notes and an agreed handover or next phase.
Build gate

No build starts until the problem, owner and success measure are clear.

High-visibility telecoms surveyors measure, photograph and digitally verify a guarded PIA-style fibre joint box before handoff.

Data that supports the work

If two systems disagree, a dashboard will not fix it.

When data is the problem, I trace the records back to their source, keep exceptions visible and agree a definition somebody can explain in a meeting.

Explore Operational Data & Reporting
  • Find where records stop matching
  • Agree which source to trust
  • Keep missing or uncertain records visible
  • Build reports that do not need rebuilding by hand every month
Synapse operations dashboard showing operative states, objectives, model usage and server health.
Live portfolio system using representative demonstration work; no client data is shown.
Bespoke Development / working portfolio system

See who is working, what is blocked and where a person needs to step in.

A self-hosted operations centre that shows who is working, what is blocked and where a person needs to step in.

  • 01Everyone responsible for the work can see the same live position.
  • 02A named person approves any action that could change infrastructure or another external system.
  • 03Blocked work, active sessions and system health are visible without piecing events together across several tools.

SIREN diagnostic cockpit showing topology, source checks, uncertainty and operator actions.
Working prototype populated with synthetic demonstration data; no live customer information is shown.
Field & Geospatial / working prototype

See where a network fault is likely to be, and why.

A geospatial diagnostic system that shows where a network fault is likely to be, how it reached that answer and what still needs checking.

  • 01Operators can see why the system suggests a fault location and which evidence reduces its confidence.
  • 02Missing links and conflicting sources become visible work to resolve rather than assumptions hidden in the result.
  • 03Field and office teams can use the same incident record and see the agreed next action.

Founder-led / grounded in delivery

Built by someone who has run the work.

I spent most of the last decade inside fibre planning, GIS and operational delivery: building teams, fixing handoffs, clearing evidence backlogs and working under NEC4, CDM and ISO 9001 controls. Strataflow grew out of that work.

10+ISP clients across prior extended engagements
15,000homes passed per month in managed LLD output
50%+reported margin sustained under NEC4 controls

Laurie's record from previous roles and engagements. Client and programme names are confidential; these figures are not Strataflow client outcomes.

Before you get in touch

A few honest answers about where to start.

Which service should I start with?

Start with the problem you recognise. Bespoke Development covers customer-facing and internal digital products. Field & Geospatial covers location, assets, field evidence and job status. Operations & Process covers the process, ownership and controls underneath the work. If those areas overlap, Laurie will help you choose a sensible starting point.

Is Strataflow still an AI and automation consultancy?

AI and automation are still part of the toolkit, but neither is a useful promise on its own. The work starts with the result you need. Technology earns its place by helping to produce that result.

Can one engagement cross several services?

Yes. A field system may need bespoke software, data reconciliation and process redesign. You choose one place to start; the other skills support the same piece of work where they are needed.

Do you replace existing systems?

Usually not. If a system still does something useful, I would rather fix the handoff around it than sell you a replacement programme. I recommend replacement only when a specific part of the current setup is causing the failure.

What happens after the first call?

Laurie will tell you plainly whether Strataflow can help. The next step may be a blueprint, a targeted process repair or an audit, depending on how clearly the problem is already understood. A larger build starts only after the scope and intended result are clear.
