Questions people usually ask first.
Is geospatial broader than GIS?
Yes. GIS is the familiar name for map-led systems. Geospatial work also covers spatial databases, topology, location matching, imagery and routes: any part of the operation where place affects the decision.
Which GIS platforms can you work with?
I work with QGIS, ArcGIS and IQGeo, supported by PostgreSQL/PostGIS and APIs where they make sense. The review establishes what is already useful, what needs connecting and whether anything genuinely needs to change.
Do we need to replace our existing field platform?
Usually not. If the platform still performs a useful role, I start by fixing the workflow around it. Replacement only makes sense when a named part of the current system is causing the failure.
Can you work with telecoms network data?
Yes. My background includes fibre planning, PIA evidence, PostgreSQL/PostGIS and GIS-led delivery systems. Before I see representative data, we agree what can be accessed and how it must be handled.
